We were 3 couples we stayed 4 nights in a front villas.
The staff was polite friendly and prompt. The spa was fabulous. The resort villas were appointed with the latest amenities; I love the style, the villas were large with
an outdoor jacuzzi. Location was 10 min walking distance to the most delightful Oia village.
The restaurant was absolutely amazing great meals for dinner and the breakfast was served facing the water; food preparation and service was 5 Star. We loved our time there and would highly recommend it to everyone.
This is an amazing hotel! My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and cannot say enough good things about our stay. First the location of the hotel and the views are amazing, you can enjoy unobstructed views
of the sunset over the ocean. The hotel is also just a short walk to the main tourist part of Oia.
Second the staff went above and beyond, the level of service was great. A big highlight was the evening we spent after dinner at the bar talking to the bartender, he explained all of the different liquors produced in Greece and made us some of his favorite cocktails. He even gave us the recipe so we could make when we got home.
I have celiac and this hotel even special ordered gluten free bread for me to enjoy!
-Une des piscines chauffée ne serait pas inutile. Seule ma femme s'est baignée, aucun autre client +Suite extrêmement confortable. personnel agréable et attentif. Cadre idyllique. Cuisine de tres grande qualité
We booked this hotel well in advance so got a good rate and used a hotels.com free night award for one of our 5 nights. The holiday was to celebrate our honeymoon so it was a special little holiday for
We contacted the hotel in advance to inform them that it was our honeymoon and to ask if they had any packages and they were very helpful with suggestions and packages they have for honeymooners. It was nice to know we had a special meal and spa packages booked in advance of turning up.
We arrived exhausted from a busy wedding weekend and were ready to chill. Check in was swift, they offered a welcome drink and a cold towel which was a nice touch but followed immediately with sales techniques, spa treatments were offered and we were even asked to buy an eco friendly beach bag (at 75 euro!). We personally felt that many staff from this point onwards were superficially friendly, smiling and talking at the same time like robots, we half thought we might get a note saying ‘help’ from one of them at any moment... this is maybe a little cruel but it is honest, we both felt that they could be more friendly in an honest, realistic way but still maintain a level of professionalism, for us this is the ultimate in service and a formula we are always on the lookout for. Marianna at Guest Services was a delight she had this combination perfectly, perhaps the spa staff could spend some time with her.
We checked into our room which was really lovely and beautifully designed, however the view was of a very ugly building site. We had a jacuzzi on our terrace but it was too cold to get into. We worked out that this room would have no sun at all throughout the day so actually the little outside area that we were so looking forward to using was not usable. We stayed the first night here but when I woke up the next day I was a bit upset, it wasn’t the honeymoon perfection I had thought we bought into (deal or no deal).
So I decided to tell reception how I felt. They moved us to another room and turned up the heat in the jacuzzi. I was not made to feel bad about speaking up, and I think they dealt with this really well, swiftly and professionally. We were very happy with the new room and enjoyed everything about it for the rest of our stay.
The main swimming pool area is really lovely with waiter service, they bring you free bottled water and the spa team come round and give you free little massages and then try to sell you spa treatments after, which is a fair exchange! We had already booked the spa so that was fine. We stayed in October and whilst the pools were all lovely, they were all freezing cold and not usable. None of the pools are heated but I assume this is only an issue for guests 3 or 4 weeks of the year.
We had a poor experience at the spa here and found it overpriced as a result. When I told the spa receptionist about my issue with the treatment, she smiled through her teeth and talked over me loudly completely ignoring my complaint. When we asked if we could use the pool and sauna after our (expensive) massage we were told that we should have used it before the treatment, it might have been nice if they’d said that sooner. I feel like the spa is a separate business from the hotel so I don’t want to put this in the same basket as the hotel. We had planned to book more treatments here but after that choose not to, and here is a tip... Don’t use the hotel spa, go out and use one of the little independents in Oia, we did and it was a proper massage that knocked spots of the hotel spa for a better price.
Breakfast here was fine but very similar day after day so we got a bit bored of it, they offer unlimited sparkling wine and eggs 5 different ways including fried, scrambled, boiled, omelette and frittata... if you like booze and eggs in the morning you will be happy.
Dinner was a disappointment, we pre booked a tasting menu and were really looking forward to it. The first 4 courses were vegetarian and frankly, not very flavoursome or exciting. We told our waitress that nothing was seasoned very well and she just hummed in agreement and left. Next a shrimp dish which was lovely and fresh but not at all daring or interesting, just safe. Then a fish dish which did not balance well at all as there were bitter leaves, and sour lemon flavours overpowering everything, however the little fish fillet itself was lovely. Dessert was fine. This was a very expensive tasting menu with a wine pairing (which was the best part), I would not recommend it since Oia is full of spectacular restaurants cheaper than this one.
Sunset cocktails were a daily occurrence and they were great, nicely presented by lovey staff and fairly priced in a peaceful little haven away from the crowds in Oia, this part is a well kept secret that I hope only guests get to enjoy as it adds to the nice things at this hotel.
One thing I would like to say is that we are a same sex couple, at no point did anyone make us feel any less special or any different to any other couple on honeymoon and whilst in todays age that’s expected I would still like to commend them for this, it was very nice! We even had a bottle of fizz and a note from the manager - excellent and heartwarming.
A mixed review I know, I could keep going as I didn’t touch on the day cruise recommended by the hotel but by a different company which was brilliant, the repeatedly forgotten tea and coffee replenishment which was not brilliant or the shared taxi booked by the hotel but both couples were charged normal full rate which was not so good. I think I’ve said enough now. Stay here yes! But go out to do things except sun downer cocktails, make sure you are back in time for those.
Cannot fault the hotel at all!!
From the wonderful staff, amazing room, great location, delicious breakfast and extra touches we received being on our honeymoon - our 3 day stay was amazing. Thanks Santo Maris!
We had a week at Santo Maris and had a great time.
The hotel is just outside of Oia, 5 minutes walk from the centre of town with great views for sunsets etc.
Location is great as Oia is now absolutely packed.
I was last there 15 years ago and it is now so busy, Santo Maris gives you a respite from all the tours that get shipped up in Coaches to visit Oia.
The rooms are beautiful and although close together you get plenty of privacy. Service is brilliant and very friendly.
Only thing that was disappointing was the Spa. The minute you walk in you are faced with a high pressure sales pitch, all delivered with a lovely smile but no effort to understand your needs - just Really expensive packages. Also if you just want to use pool and Sauna etc even residents are charged 30€ an hour!!!
But on whole a great experience, although due to how busy Oia is we won’t be returning. But I would recommend if you were to go for a couple of night.
-Nothing +The view, the staff, the service, the pool
Hotel com excelente localização, atendimento, e Servicos...
Quarto nota 10
Oferece ainda um restaurante à beira da piscina ao som de piano, com ótima comida. Foram dois dias maravilhosos. Vale a pena!!!
This beautiful hotel has all the amenities. The suites were large, comfortably furnished, and steps away from a pool and hot tub. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. The views were fantastic - a great place to watch
sunsets. You can hike down to the beach in about 20 minutes, or up to the town of Oia in about 10. Breakfast was delicious and definitely worth getting out of bed for! Definitely a place to remember.
My holiday in your facilities was really a pure pleasure. We enjoyed your friendly reception. The concierge service was good. The restauration service was in high level standard. The design of the rooms was really nice and warm. The jacuzzi
was good even if it could be better with salted water. The quality of the bathroom and amenities was remarkable.
We want personally to thank you my wife and me for this remarkable experience.

-Sunset view was heavily obstructed by trees. Staff at breakfast not very friendly. +Very comfortable bed. Close proximity to Oia.
-Our suite was perfectly fine inside - bed and seating area, adequate bathroom ( but no additional bathroom as advertised?) and walk-in shower- although the so called kitchenette was little more than a sink, fridge ( which doubled up as
the mini-bar,) tea and coffee making facilities and some cups and saucers, so no possibility to make a simple sandwich or a salad. Outside there was a small terrace but the proximity of the other suites meant that we were overlooked, and were able to overlook others. Our particular suite was at the edge of the property so we also had the unpleasant experience of overlooking an adjoining sizeable building construction site. The property boasts a number of outdoor pools, one of which we were lucky enough to have adjacent to our terrace but the temperature of the water was colder than I might have expected from a hotel of this class. Finally, the hotel has only one restaurant which it markets as a fine dining experience. During a long adult life I have been fortunate enough to have eaten in many establishments including large numbers of genuinely fine dining restaurants and I have to say that this one really didn't qualify for that accolade. The food was really no more than adequate, rather bland in terms of the flavours produced and the menu itself is quite limited. We ate there on the first of our eleven nights and it had been our intention to eat there again during the course of our stay but after that first experience we chose not to, preferring to walk up to Oia where there is a large variety of places to eat. In that connection it is worth mentioning that the walk up to Oia, though only a short distance is a substantial steep pull up a dedicated footpath, and the return journey, though an easy downhill walk is generally executed in the dark so make sure you have a torch. +All of the staff - the restaurant/breakfast staff, the maids, the concierge and check-in staff and the porters - were all brilliant. We couldn't have hoped for friendlier or more helpful people. The breakfast experience was very enjoyable with a good choice of food, a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere which made full use of the outside space when the weather allowed, and the friendly helpful staff.
My friends and I visited Santorini and stayed at Santo Maris for 4 days and 3 nights. We had a wonderful experience starting with a beautiful villa. The food was exceptional! The view of the sunset is phenomenal! We also
tried the spa and had a wonderful time. The entire staff was very helpful and made all the arrangements for us which made our stay stress free. I would definitely come back and bring new friends.
My boyfriend and I visited Santorini and stayed here last week. The food was amazing, the views are unbeatable, and the service was next level. The concierge was so helpful with transportation and restaurant recommendations. It is 100% worth the
expense to stay here. Attached is an unfiltered, unedited photo of the sunset view from the pool. Best place to stay on the island!
If you are looking for calm, peaceful and flawless romantic experience on
Santorini- this hotel is for you. Adults only comfortable far from crowds place with fantastic service and exclusive sunset view. The staff knows what you might need even
before you ask, the room and outdoor jacuzzi is beyond expectations. Highly recommend!
We actually found this hotel through a travel agency, and it exceeded all of our expectations. The location was perfect, a mere 5 minute walk to the center of Oia, and a quick walk to Ammoudi Bay where the majority
of all sunset cruises depart.
The room was great, very spacious with a patio, private hot tub and an additional pool specific to our section of the hotel. The main pool featured an amazing view of the ocean, with great service at the pool bar for food and beverage. The stay also inlcluded a great breakfast spread each morning, very high quality.
The hotel staff was great, and the experience specialists ensured we were able to do everything we wanted to on the island, from the cruises to car rental etc. If I ever go back to Santorini I will definitely be staying here again.
