I cannot say enough about this hotel the staff were exceptional. The room was heaven. The food was divine. The location was just perfect. This is the place you should stay hands down. It will not disappoint. Just book it and prepared to be wowed.

Booked a sunset view suite for three nights and wished we had stayed longer. Hotel is new and facilities are beautiful. Staff and service were truly amazing. (Among many other things, we arrived late and they got us to our room in 10 minutes and moreover had already cooled it down, which we have noticed is not the norm at hotels, regardless of price/stars.) Excellent recs from concierge. (Special thanks to Sophia.) In contrast to other reviews we have seen, we LOVED the quiet of the common areas. The fitness center was absolutely excellent. Breakfast was phenomenal, as was lunch and cocktails. We had dinner out, with the hotel recommendation of Melatini, and loved it. Walks to town are short and pleasant up their stone path (but don’t wear heels). A significant advantage to this hotel is the fact that it is NOT in Oia proper, with ridiculous numbers of people, apparently even in off season. We loved this hotel, despite the crowds of Santorini, and found it to be a lovely respite from that madness.

Our visit to Santo Maris exceeded my expectations. For one, the suites are stunning, and allow guests much privacy. You forget there are other guests at the resort! The grounds and restaurant/pool are pristine and stunning. But the thing that sets this resort apart from all others is the staff. The girls working at the front desk are kind, accommodating, and a pleasure to talk with. I am a vegetarian, and a foodie-so finding a good restaurant in the land of meat and fish was a struggle! Nonetheless the girls at guest services recommended restaurant after restaurant until I finally found one with a menu that accommodated my wants. They were so patient and willing to help out in any way. Also, breakfast is out of this world. Highly recommend a stay here!

Although very new, with some 'green' staff, this hotel was fantastic and met all of our expectations. We arrived at 6am and although our room was not yet ready we were showed to the early arrival / departure area where there was a couch we could nap on as well as male and denial toilets / shower. Our suite was spacious, however after travelling so far a view of the ocean or horizon would have been nicer than the pool view we were given. The buffet breakfast is heaven and the gym facilities fantastic. Oia is a short 7 min walk away, and the hill (no steps) helps to burn off all the delicious Greek food! The hotel restaurant was way over priced so we ate in oia each night, the only downside was the very dark walk home!! A hotel shuttle would be a sensational addition!! All in all we had a wonderful time and would go back!!

Santorini looked really special in the photos before we arrived but I can only say the whole experience was above and beyond our expectations. From the moment we arrived by transfer from the airport (arranged by the hotel), we were met with a very warm & genuine welcome from the staff. Whilst checking in at reception we were greeted with glasses of bubbly & escorted on a golf buggy upto our gorgeous suite. Another complementary bottle of bubbles awaited which we enjoyed in our private jacuzzi once we'd unpacked. The suite was extremely spacious built in traditional style with tall semi circular domed roof. There was a large lounge area, kitchenette with fridge, kettle, seating, & various food & drink options available at a supplement. Steps down led to a dressing area with ample wardrobes, drawers, long mirror, hairdryer & safe, then into a large bathroom with separate areas for the wc, sink & huge shower, and further into the bedroom with queen sized extremely comfortable bed. There was so much storage space, air conditioning & beautifully lit throughout. In addition there was a huge terrace at the rear with our own jacuzzi, table, chairs & personal sun loungers. Our deluxe room was in a superb location looking down on 1 of the 4 pools with another at the front of the property, both surrounded by numerous sunbeds around the pools. There were 2 other pools in the complex, 1 being the amazing main infinity pool. This is in a prime location with unparalleled views to the famous Santorini sunset. A beautiful, serene & tranquil setting that feels so unspoilt & can be enjoyed sat relaxing in the many comfortable chairs & loungers located poolside all serviced by the lovely bar staff. The restaurant also shares this location & amazing view. Equally lovely at breakfast too. A vast selection of both buffet & freshly cooked items. Dont miss out on the pancakes! We had lunch served at the pool bar most days - a good choice, all tasty & delicious. We also had dinner 1 evening but chose to eat it in the bar area & not in the main restaurant. Again really lovely. The spa was amazing & should not be missed. Hidden below, the staff were so helpful & very professional & such a fantastic array of treatments. Can highly recommend a full body aromatherapy massage. After much research before we booked, we were so glad we booked to stay at Santo Maris. All of the staff we encountered, from the gardeners & housekeeping, to the bar & restaurant, & the reception, guest services & spa - without fail, everyone was so polite, warm & friendly & always made a point of interracting with us. Such lovely people. The location is perfect. Just a 5 minute walk via a pathway from the hotel into Oia where you mingle amongst the very many tourists (& numerous cruise passengers) to enjoy this unique, picturesque location. So the Santo Maris is in a prime position just outside of the hustle & bustle, yet ideally situated to experience the sunset without the crowds. Would love to stay again & highly recommend coming here above & beyond any of the hotels situated in the resorts perched up along the edge of the caldera. So much more space & definitely more privacy, with superb staff & views to die for. Take me back.... :-))

This hotel is very modern and clean. I loved the decor and the walk to Oia is SO close. The spa was incredible too. One thing to note about this hotel is that it faces the opposite side of the Mediterranean than you would typically expect from seeing pictures of Santorini. If a view of the white buildings is important to you, you will not get that here, BUT the walk there is so convenient and the amenities are so good that I would still certainly recommend this resort.
Cons: no improvements, but the view is not the typical expectation when you see photos of Santorini
Pros: Clean, unique, modern, great spa, loved the rooms
Location: very close to Oia, you walk right into the center of it with great restaurants and shopping

The building is very beautiful. The room is very nice with individual balcony and hot tub. I really love the design and material they built in each room. We were enjoying the sunset view in our room. Hotel staff are very friendly with warm smile which made me feel welcome.

I can't say enough about how impressed we were with the entire resort. Beautifully appointed room with Mediterranean chic, neutral decor. Wonderfully attentive staff from the front desk to the restaurant to the bar to poolside. Excellent housekeeping. Great food, including a generous hot and cold breakfast, and outstanding cocktails. Gorgeous sunset views.

-Little underwhelmed by the view from our suite and little weird to have the shower in the open space of the suite +We were celebrating our honemoon and the hotel was amazing, welcoming us with champange and towelswans with rose padles and a little handwritten congraduation note. The staff was amazing, everybody was as pleasant and service orientef as you could wish for. The even offer you free massage when relaxing by the main pool! Everything was so clean and they even come to clean your room 2x a day! The breakfast was unbelevable, the facalities were fantastic and these adorable little kittens that live at the hotel were just a cherry on the top of everything.

The hotel is relatively new and as such it is very clean and fresh. Our suite was beautifully decorated and the facilities throughout were all great. The staff was friendly and professional. The infinity pool and view was stunning. The tailored made breakfast was delicious. I also have to mention the fantastic hot stone massage and vanilla wrap that I received on the last day. The cherry on top were the three adorable kittens that kept us company throughout our stay (even for an occasional snooze by the pool). :-)

5 stars for the person responsible for recruitment - all staff are professional, polite , helpful and with a great sense of humour - great customer experience is at their heart. It was such relief to escape the Sept tourist crowds - hotel is a pleasant 6 minute walk from the centre via an off road path. A haven of tranquility - You wouldn't have known the hotel was 95% full - well laid out and designed suites with a choice of swimming pools. The atmosphere was quiet, relaxed and calm. Great place to watch the sunset Not an extensive breakfast menu, the buffet food was freshly prepared with some variation. Overall a fantastic experience - especially recommend for couple of all ages

This hotel is the best hotel we have experienced as a couple in Santorini Oia. It is unique in the way that in July it has a phenomenal sunset view from the bedrooms, balcony at the bedrooms and also the bar and restaurant. While this is not the case in any of the hotels in the Caldera. The bedrooms are uniquely spacious compared to other hotels in Oia. Enough space to sleep, relaxe and also the wardrobe space is more than needed. The balcony is big such as the living room. The kitchen is clean and helpful. The staff working at Santo Maris is fantastic! Great cleaning, fantatsic service, and even offered helping a broken wheel of the bag. The pools are fantastic and so is the pool service, great cocktails! The congierge, Despina, made our honeymoon unforgettable. The excellent communication and organization of rememorable events for us we will never forget. We recommend Santo Maris to everyone that is going to Oia, it is by far the best hotel in Oia and location wise better than the Caldera.

I only had the time and money to spend 2 amazing nights at this hotel but wow was it worth it. I stayed in the junior suite with my husband and I just didn't want to leave! The rooms are just stunning. Rooms are extremely clean, well decorated and comfy. The views are stunning as you lounge in your lounge chairs or just hang out in the hot tub drinking some wine. The restaurant serves delicious food and the staff is super friendly. The front desk ladies were amazing, helpful and super sweet. I don't like to go back to the same place twice but this definitely is an exception! Can't wait to visit this gorgeous place again!

Wonderful experience at Santo Maris! Staff is excellent, very attentive and friendly! Great location. 5 minute walk up stone path to town of Oia. Perfect location to watch famous Santorini sunset without having to leave resort. our sea view suite was beautiful and big! spa staff would visit you by pool every day and give you a mini massage. Pool staff were quick with towels and cold bottled water. The view at resort is beautiful. Overall, I would give this resort a 5 out of 5 rating.
Pros: Everything. Especially the staff. Coming from a resort town, I know how difficult it can be to get good staff.
Location: 5 minute walk up stone path to Oia. 10 minute walk to Ammoudi Bay.

My husband and I were originally scheduled for a three night stay, but extended to a five night stay when we fell in love with this gorgeous hotel. The decor is impeccable, the service is incredible, and the location is simultaneously remote, yet close to everything. First, the hotel is beautiful. The rooms are outfitted with comfortable bedding, and our suite included a lovely sitting area as well as a small kitchen area. We were close to one of the three pools on the property. The grounds are carefully manicured and each space looks like something from a design magazine. Second, the service is incredible. Every single person we encountered was not only friendly, but clearly committed to their job. Our bartender took the time to explain our drinks, and allow us to taste various local, liquors. The woman at guest services helped us plan incredible experiences (spa, wine tasting, sailing) that truly enhanced our day. We felt so very cared for and pampered. Each time we walked into the main area, we were greeted with a smile and asked if there was anything we needed. Lastly, the hotel is truly in the best location. You have an unobstructed view of the sunset each evening shared only with the other guests of the hotel. You're not forced to elbow through crowds to reserve a front row seat. The hotel is at the end of the island, so it feels very remote and private. However, you're only a 5-10 minute walk from the center of the hustle and bustle of Oia, and only 10-15 minutes from Amoudi Bay. Really and truly, the location could not be better. We walked from Fira to Oia one day and were able to see many of the hotel options along the way. I can say without a doubt that Santo Maris was, in our opinion, the best option.

Suites are large and beautifully designed. Hotel is located outside the town of Oia which is a positive in terms of crowds but don't expect to have the captivating views you see all over instagram. Center of town is located on a path which starts just outside the hotel. Hotel staff were gracious and friendly. Breakfast was very nice- both buffet and food to order.

-Nothing +Everything about the property was great. The stag were extremely friendly and helpful. We had complementary lemonade instead of wine since we don't drink. Plus they gave us scarfs as a gift. The place was calm and quiet, and most importantly privet.

We stayed at the Santo Maris for 4 nights for our Honeymoon in September 2017. It was such an amazing experience! Everything that we could have possibly needed/wanted the staff made sure we had. When we arrived on the first day we were delivered a bottle of champagne and a delicious heart shaped cake to celebrate our Honeymoon. They also decorated the bed with beautiful swans, it was a nice touch to make us feel special. The room was extremely comfortable and well maintained throughout our entire stay. We had fun talking to the staff and they were very kind. It is at the bottom of the hill so it is a bit of a walk up to the main strip in town, but its relatively easy to get there. Also - there is no need to book an expensive dinner to watch the sunset because you have the best sunset view from the hotel! We spent a few evenings sitting by the pool with a glass of wine, rather then fighting through crowds to get a good view. This hotel only has 40 rooms i believe, so it never felt crowded, in fact it was very peaceful! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a lovely place to relax!

My husband and I came to the Santo Maris for our honeymoon. From the moment we checked in, everything was marvelous. We were given champagne and an appetizer at check in. Then we were privately escorted to our room where they had decorated it for our honeymoon and had music playing. We stayed in a junior suite. It had a kitchenette, bedroom/living room, dressing area/closet, bathroom and and private patio with jacuzzi. We had a view of the ocean to top it all off. Wow! What a breath of fresh air! The Santo Maris is located in Oia but away from the noise and crowds of tourists. The food served at the restaurant is so fresh and delicious. We had the octopus for dinner twice - it should not be missed. The morning breakfast is just as wonderful. Not only is there a huge buffet that changes daily but you can also order off of the menu for no additional price. I recommend their pancakes and scrambled eggs. In regards to the service and level of professionalism at the Santo Maris... They truly cater to you and make you feel like a welcome guest. My husband and I would like to recognize 2 servers - Konstantinos and Aggelikh. They are extremely attentive and hard working and caring. The rest of the staff is great too! My husband and I didn't want to leave the Santo Maris. In fact, the next hotel we stayed at just didn't feel the same after we left the Santo Maris. They pay attention to all the details - things like vases of fresh flowers in our room and nightly turn down service with different chocolates each night and handing out cold bottled water without extra charge - its just extra special but they aren't trying too hard to schmooze you too. The Santo Maris is the right mix of luxury and comfort. Its not snobby but its not lacking any amenities either. Lastly, we booked our stay through Costco Travel (which is awesome and we highly recommend to anyone). With the Costco travel package came a 30 minute massage for my husband and I. We both enjoyed our massages very much. Our masseuses were Nina and Elefteria. Both were very professional and kind. Thank you thank you thank you Santo Maris staff for making our honeymoon extra special!!
