Santo Maris Oia Luxury Suites & Spa
Oia Santorini Greece
on via Tripadvisor.com

My husband and I just got back from our unforgettable honeymoon at this amazing luxury resort. We've traveled the world and have stayed at Leading Hotels, Relais and Chateaux and Fine Hotels and Resorts and none have even come close to the level of service we received at the Santo Maris Oia. Before we even arrived, Manos, the general manager, reached out to us, assuring us that our stay would be unforgettable and he could have been more correct. We were greeted upon arrival by Vasilis with refreshing spa water and a platter of Greek olives and cheese. Despina, the guest service manager, personally escorted us to the Luxury Sunset Villa we booked and gave us a tour of the gorgeous 2 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom villa, with private heated pool and jacuzzi overlooking the most breathtaking sunsets you've ever seen. The villa also had a sauna and gym and living/dining space and full kitchen downstairs with separate smaller bedroom. Despina arranged for a stunning arrangement of fresh roses and flowers, a rose petal trail leading to the master bedroom, and a bottle of Moët and Chandon with strawberries and chocolate for us. The next day they had a gorgeous bouquet of flowers for me and several traditional Easter treats. The decor is beautiful, the amenities were wonderful, the bed linens luxurious and include a pillow menu (yes, that's correct)! The entire staff was warm, friendly, hospitable and professional. Breakfast is included and is remarkable. Konstantinos took care of us every morning and was so good at recommending what we should order that we just let him order for us. The pie of the day was always delicious as well as the Cretan pancakes - a must try! Sofia coordinated a 6 hour Sunset Catamaran cruise and our car rental, along with suggesting a lot of fun and exciting things for us to do around the island. She was very informative and helpful with all of our questions. We got couples massages at the spa. Highly recommend!!! Natalia and Eleftheria were wonderful! I wish we would have had time to go back and try their famous Cretan massage. Beautiful facility, lovely music and excellent products. Their attention to detail is astonishing. I got sick after a meal out on the town and when my husband called room service to request ginger ale for me and explained, George, the restaurant manager, called us and asked if he could send over special Cretan rice, bread and tea to help soothe my stomach. He brought it over personally and did not charge us. What hotel does this!? Not only was the property stunningly beautiful with those sunsets, the ambience was upscale, the location was perfect - private yet only a 5 minute walk from the shops at Oia, and the staff was the most attentive of any other hotel. We cannot wait to go back and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting the perfect, romantic honeymoon or getaway.

Excellent service- staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Nice/new accommodations with great privacy (quiet part of the island with convenient access to shops/sites)

Can't say enough good things about Santo Maris. The resort is set apart from the busier parts of the island, perfect for those looking for a quiet getaway. That said, it's short walking distance (less than 10 mins) to the city center, about a 20 minute bus ride to Fira (island capital) and convenient to other popular sites in Santorini. Great privacy on the resort itself, as you have your own private suite, including private porches and jacuzzi - although the outside is not enclosed, so you are exposed to people walking by, but the grounds were pretty quiet while we were there in April. And it offers the best views of the sunset. But the best thing about Santo Maris is the service. From the time I first emailed the general manager Despina, she went above and beyond to make sure we had a top notch experience. Special thanks to her, Vasilis, Konstantinos, Sofia (housekeeping), Natalia and Sofia (spa) for making our stay so special- one of the best groups of staff I've seen in all my travels. Would highly recommend this resort. Tip: if you're walking, be prepared for some steep hills both on and off the resort grounds.

Can't say enough good things about this outstanding hotel in the best village on the island of Santorini. With beautiful design and layout, all of the rooms are uniquely laid out suites with exceptional amenities including kitchens and private patios with personal hot tubs. The staff are friendly, personable, attentive to guests needs and always helpful. The poolside bar and restaurant are the perfect place to take in the amazing sunsets in the comfort of the well-cushioned lounge chairs. The hotel is in a great location just a short 2 min walk from the heart of scenic Oia, the most often photographed part of Santorini. The Santo Maris Hotel is only a 30 min (scenic) transfer from the ferry docs or the island airport. This hotel is a MUST for anyone looking for a luxurious getaway to one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean/Aegean.

We spent 5 days at Santo Maris and has a lovely and relaxed time. The staff were fantastic and attentive, the rooms were beautiful and modern, breakfast was over the top, and the spa was terrific! Had several spa services and it was world class and one of the more beautiful spas we've been to. We live in a city known for its spas and even we were impressed! Thank you Santo Maris...we hope to come back!

Wonderful resort , it was tranquility and luxury at its peak . We went there with our three boys and loved every minute of our stay . We felt so pampered during our stay there . The only problem we had was that it was a fifteen to twenty min walk from the cliff and the road was very steep . If the hotel would provide drop off and pick up it would be awesome .

I don't usually leave reviews but this hotel really deserves one. I stayed early last summer for the hotel's first season after three weeks of traveling around the country, utterly exhausted, looking to spend the night somewhere with a spa so I could get a massage and leave the next day. I called the same day I was arriving in Santorini to check their availability, a lovely staff member quickly booked me a room and an hour later I arrived at their front gate. I was given a beautiful standard room that felt more like a suite with a private jacuzzi, sitting area, and two balconies. I booked my spa appointments, ordered delicious room service, and took a pre-sleep dip in the jacuzzi. The next morning I woke up so rested and happy that I decided to delay my flight and ask if I could stay another night. They had availability for an extra night, but since my room was booked, they upgraded me to an actual suite. I ended up staying in that suite for several nights. The reservation people were extremely accommodating, the spa and its staff were excellent, the room was beautiful and had top of the line products, the service was top notch (they delivered fresh fruit to my room every night), the ocean view from the pool (one of two) are sublime; I spent many a lazy afternoon sipping drinks by the pool basking in the view, the decor is clean and chic with a lot of attention to detail (not cheesy like many Oia hotels), the breakfast was delicious with a good sampling of traditional greek breakfast foods. I would also like to point out that the location of the hotel is ideal, in my opinion. Most of the best hotels in Oia are facing the caldera, and though it makes for a lovely place to watch the sunset, they are more limited in space and the crowds of people that gather on the caldera to watch the sunset every evening make them lacking in privacy. The Santo Maris is uniquely positioned because it faces the other side of the island, so it still has breath taking views, but enjoys spacious grounds and gated privacy away from the hustle and bustle. It feels secluded but in less than five minutes you're at the center of Oia. I would never stay anywhere else in Santorini. I begrudgingly left this luxurious oasis feeling healed and rested and nine months later, I still dream about it.

This is a beautifully designed property, quite quirky and in the style of the cave houses. All white and rustic, simple but modern and cool. Apart from a full length mirror, it pretty much has everything you need (but please please, do get mirrors in - no one wants to breeze off into the sunset looking like a pillock because they can't check their outfit!) The pool was silent by day, virtually our own. Food is lovely, cocktails beautiful. Expensive though - they're very much going for a 5* price tag. Smoking is a massive no-no and negative. At breakfast, although it's in an outdoory area, people smoking just totally ruins the lovely food and produce - utterly gross. Hotel needs to get this banned. Same round the pool - leaving cigarettes lying around, just horrible/cheap. Staff are amazing and lovely. A very steep walk to the very centre of Santorini (stunning, but busy and again, expensive, London prices) takes about 10 minutes. It's a magical kingdom up there, photo opps galore, but it does get crazy busy. All in all, it was a lovely place to stay but incredibly quiet, lacking in ambience somewhat, and they could do with making the drinks more affordable, which would make you want to hang out longer & watch the incredible sunsets (which would then start creating some buzz and ambience). Utterly relaxing though - great for doing nothing all day!

Service excellent, room pristine and so clean. Always felt like you were in an oasis. Highly recommend. Plus it is a good place if you aren't a 26 year old and can climb like a billy goat! Taxis drop you off and can pick you up. Would go back in a heart beat. Nothing but top notch. They have a spa and we had several treatments because it was so good. Plus there was a private pool. So wonderful.

We loved this place. We stayed for 4 nights, after our ferry to Mykonos was cancelled due to bad weather we stayed an extra night. The staff was very friendly. Especially when giving us advice on where to eat. They recommended beautiful spots. Our room was bigger than most couples apartments, and everything in the resort was clean and up to standard. Recommendable for sure. Enjoy :)
